They need a chance to make a little money on the Slim, so a price drop in the near future is out. But why would they do that anyway? The Slim is tapping into the market of buyers who wanted a cheaper PS3. If I were Sony, I would just ramp up the advertizing a bit and wait it out until Christmas. I doubt the PS3 will sell less than 200k per week until after the holidays. Then they can drop the price a bit during the slow season a couple of quarters from now.
