So then what about stealth games like MGS, racers like Forza and GT, slashers like Ninja Gaiden and GOW and jrpgs. There are more genres but you get the point. The PC is good for you because apparently all you care about is fps games with good campaigns. For everyone else consoles provide something that pc's have simply not provided for a long time now.

Also on the multiplayer side of fps's some, not all, are just as complex as pc fps's and offer just as much competition. Try playing a pro in their respective games of Halo 3, GoW2, COD4 and so on, I gaurantee you get destroyed. Controllers require far more skill to aim well with than mouses, there is a major learning curve to getting good at shooting in a console fps. Although I admit this isn't true for all fps's since some developers dumb down the games by adding auto aim and magnetism but as far as Halo 3 and GoW2 I can tell you they have minimal assists. Just look at the rankings for the top teams on MLG, the top five teams are always there in some order because their skill is so far and above everyone else's.

For stealth, have you ever played Thief 2? Or how about NFS Hot Pursuit 2, depending on your defenitions of slasher, I'm still playing Diablo II or Witcher. JRPGs don't interest me, actually they do but the strategy part does, and they are just like turnbased ones, so please look at the Total War games or Civilization. If it's for the story then the list of adventure games with story are huge i numbers.

As for the pros please look at videos or try playing people in U2004 or Quake 3, there is a reason why epic slowed down UT3 by 30% for the consoles. It's because the consoles can't handle them. In fact even when they are slowed, FPSes need serious auto aim on the consoles. That's just sad right there. PC shooters have NO auto-aim, unless you set it and in single-player only. No auto-aim at all online.

I never said PC doesn't have those genres I said that they didn't have anything recently which looks true based off the games you listed. Another aspect is the fact that the big budget titles for these genres have been moving onto consoles. For example games like Heavy Rain or Alan Wake would have been almost guaranteed PC exclusives 9 years ago. Even if you can find similar titles to these on the PC you won't find anything nearly as high budget as those two.

I never said the PC pro's aren't good, all I'm saying is that the skill gap is just as high for the high quality console shooters as it is for the pc ones. Jump into the MLG playlist for Halo 3 and you will see the massive skill gap between players, even for what you term as a slow shooter like Halo.

And that's why I hate the HD consoles. They ruin games. They came out and all of th sudden good FPSes stopped being produced. Good RPGs ended (compare Morrowind to Oblivion to see what I mean) and any other cross-platform genre jsu went down the drain. As I said earlier, things liek RPGs and FPSes are about as good on consoles are platformers and fighting games are on the PC, which is pretty medicore.

Tit for tat. Consoel shave good platforming whiel the PC half asses them and the PC has good shooters and RPGs whiel the console shalf ass them. I canspend hours and pages elling of how wesome it is to have platformer/fighting on the PC and how you can plug in stuff and controllers and crap, in the end they are half-assed on the PC. Vice versa for the consoles and other genres.
