Ars PSP Go review: Sony charging much more for much less

Now that it's confirmed there's no way to transfer your old games, this strikes me as a pretty bad deal. Has any video game company ever made the format their system was built upon obsolete with a hardware revision? That alone boggles my mind.

Sony is pretty much taking the PSN/XBLA business model and applying it to an entire platform. Rather than supplementing retail releases, the service for PSP Go owners is exclusive. This is bothersome because of Sony's reputation of having infrequent sales and non-existant price drops. I can easily see why someone would buy a PSP-3000, a DS/DSi, or an Iphone/Ipod Touch. I just can't say the same for the PSP Go.
