Also, I have to get involved in this 'spin off' conversation
Firstly, to the obvious.
"Mario Galaxy is a main series game.
A spin off won't outsell it. I'm sorry."
Mario Kart is certainly a spin off, and yet MK:Wii outsold Galaxy, Double Dash outsold Sunshine
Second, to the subjective.
I fail to see how 2d mario platformers are a spin off
