Microsoft downgraded their plans to ship 13-15 million units down to 12 million units shipped up until June, compare to the Wii at 9 million units shipped. The 360 was also out a year earlier.
That has nothing to do with whether the Wii can surpass the XBOX 360 this year.....
It means that Microsoft is anticipating lower than expected demand for the 360.
I should mention that Nintendo plans to ramp up production by 1 million units a month in April, bringing the grand total of the Wii units shipped of 9 million units through June. Microsoft is only shipping 1-2 million more units in the same time frame at 12 million units shipped through June.
