Sony - PSP GO - Thoughts? - View Post

I picked one up.

Summary: worth it.

Many older UMD games I've wanted showed up in the store today for dirt cheap, practically making the price difference up (and it will more than pay for itself over time, after the expensive on-the-shelf-as-UMD games drop in price... which I am sure they will), and then I got 16GB of storage to boot.

It feels great, the battery lasts a good long time as far as I can tell (according to the power meter I have some 6 hours of life left *after* playing for an hour on the bus this morning, which is way better than my older PSPs ever did with their original batteries), the screen is miles better than my PSP-2000's (which, in turn, is way better than any DS, IMO, which is the main reason I won't buy a DS, along with the ugly, uncomfortable reactangle shape, which I really dislike), and it fits very nicely in my pocket, unlike any previous game handheld I've owned, including its predecessors.

The coolest thing, is that I can play my games on it as a home console, with the new bluetooh functionality, and one of my PS3 controllers. Its all-in-one gaming goodness -- I no longer have to separate my gaming at home from my gaming on the go, and that, to me, is *awesome*.

Worth it. Anyone who says otherwise, IMO, hasn't actually tried one, or has some beef with their current UMD collection not being a free ticket to upgrading. The thing is awesome once you get your hands on it, even at the asking price -- especially given the low prices of the older games in the store (of which there are a couple hundred, with the promise of hundreds more in the coming months).

My UMD collection was the only thing ever holding me back.  Once I realized I could sell them all on eBay for near what I paid for them, and buy digital, I didn't look back... today I'm glad for it.

Nice, am getting mine next month

thankx for the mini review
