Yeah, and i don't discredit their work, i'm sure they follow the most probable statistical models for each scenario, and maybe this man used one who he considered to be the most logical. But even so, a lot can change when it actually comes down to the moment per se, and sometimes this predictions affect the way that the producers and corporate businessmen want to produce and market their products.
Us, european market suffer greatly from that, especially when it comes to the RPG genre, since market analysis and predictions of this kind, usually mean that most rpg games tend to not be released here, even if the EU market is the market with the most capacity for expansion and diversity nowadays.
