Not that I didn't like Oblivion, of course. It's one of my favourite PS3 games, I thought it was immersive, had tons of value and was overall brilliant. I just saw that one major flaw with the premise of the game. Ignoring, of course, little things like the AI. Also, I felt it was a little bit...overdone, the whole game. For example, the weapon vendors. Did you ever actually buy a weapon from a vendor? Because in all my playtime from level 1 to 27, I didn't. I also never bought any armour. And for all of your love of Oblivion, you don't recognise that line? "I saw a mudcrab the other day. Nasty creatures" "I've heard others say the same" or "How are you?" "I've heard others say the same" It's one of the very common lines in Oblivion, as well as the mudcrab one and Daedra worship in the Summerset Isles, which one of the Daedra worshippers (I think it was Clavicus Vile) was very worried about. That's the AI thing I was talking about. But it's harmless, and amusing. Like how the beggars suddenly get posh accents when you ask them about "rumours". |
Kantor, you're nitpicking about the largest single player game in human history. Of course there's gonna b minor flaws if you have thousands of features in a game.
The AI overall was very good. It's actually mostly a smart AI, NPC actions aren't just run through scripts like in other games. The dialogu glitches are well-known, many people have laughed at and commented them because they're comical. I wasn't bothered about them at all, i found them funny whenever they happened. Btw, I don't recognize that particular line, and your quotes aren't correct - such blatantly flawed dialogues like your second one -"how are you?" -"I've hear others say the same" are very rare.
Ahh.. btw, i noticed now u agree that it's all harmless and amusing.
I agree the weapon vendors didnt have much useful stuff to offer, but I actually bought a couple of armor pieces and some arrows early in the game lol.
Oblivion is a masterpiece.
