Peripheral this Peripheral that.
As far as video games are concerned, I consider a peripheral anything that doesn't come in the core package with the console.
Wii Remote, Nunchuk, not peripherals.
Wii wheel, balance board, motion plus, peripherals.
For xbox 360:
Wifi, HDMI cable, harddrive.
PS3: the blu ray remote thing (is dualshock 3 the standard controller or does it come with sixaxis still?, i don't know much about the PS3).
