I will tentatively agree in that Nintendo could have captured the best of both worlds, if they wanted. Getting one audience does not preclude the other, and so on. And they certainly don't have the internal development capacity that they should. That said, it is a fool's errand to piss money away to appease a relatively small group of people, no-one gains anything, except that already-spoiled segment of the market
