No other Wii games have been 60, why start now? |
The reason why Wii games are cheaper than HD games is because Wii graphics are cheaper to produce. Less art production goes into Wii visuals.
But the big expense in music games isn't creating lush virtual worlds for people to explore, it's licensing the music. Licensing the music for the Wii version isn't any cheaper than licensing the music for the PS360 version, so there isn't much in the way of savings for the publisher for putting it on the Wii.
Hence, music games on the Wii are now bearing a $60 MSRP.
