If consoles have been selling at a rate of more than double last year during the same time and they drop I would say that sounds like a correction. Markets can do some abnormal things for extended periods but eventually they have to come back down and return somewhat to normalcy.
The fact that it was an across the board decline indicates quite clearly it was a market wide effect and not something with just a single console, I don't honestly know what caused it but it seems likely that it was due in part to the huge amount of sales already done up to that point.
