All kinds of ways really.
Originally (before condom) I used the strap all the time, even when playing non-waggle games... Then with the condom I used both "protection aides" though occasionally took the cover off.
Now with WM+ I took the strap off because it became annoying... so even recently playing without WM+ (Conduit and Twilight Princess this past month) I no longer use the strap.
I will probably only put the strap back on when I take it down stairs for Wii Sports or if (when) I get Wii Sports Resort. The covers will mostly stay on.
