I think this project is awesome and would love to play. Having said that the general attitude of the developers or at least upstream gits is appalling. Everyone likes to have their playstyle and ultimatly seeing options in games to customize playstyles would be great, but it's not going to happen most of the time. So instead of Definitive, better, supperior which just makes you(elite) sound like jerks for being selfish about gaming. How about deeper, advanced, scaled difficulty of play.
While I had no personal troubles with the speed in Melee I enjoyed Brawls pace far more because I could actually see cool cinematic like play. Brawl speed is better for eye candy. While Melee speed was great for a form of brutal beat down. Though SSB was admitidly too slow for me.
As for tournament play. I recall Capcom putting bannable moves that abused the mechanics. Where as most of the time fan tournaments are all about exploiting abusable mechanics. So you can take your own opinion for definitive tournament play yourself.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
