Nope if it couldn't do it while being $150 cheaper than PS3 and riding wave of novelty blue ocean games it won't do it this season when it's only $100 cheaper and has more of the same games and bad press from all this year).

Nintendo didn't do it previously, because they didn't have the stock the previous holidays, they were supply constrained, that's not an issue this year, they have plenty of stock, they have forecasted 26 million by end of the fiscal year, so that means they have millions ready to be sold this holiday, if they have enough stock, they'll take 50%.

Stock wasn't limited since early 2008 AFAIK.

There's no logical reasons for Wii doing better than in 2008 Christmas period:

- the lineup is less interesting for new buyers

- whole 2009 was much worse than 2008 when it comes to Wii games

- console pricing comparision is worse for Wii than last year

Uh, yeah it was, Wii was sold out last Holiday.

Uhh, no, actually its better for new buyers, last year didn't have Wii fit plus or New Super Mario Bros, last year was Wii Music and Animal crossing

Console pricing isn't an issue for Wii, Wii is unaffected by PS3 and 360, if you'll notice its sales remain in the same range in spite of price drops, its games that affect Wii sales, and Wii is about to get some big hitters this holiday, especially Mario

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
