Once again someone has to point out that games are subjective for the simple reason that we all have different tastes...this is a moot point.
value is derived from how much the console can do in comparison to how much it cost, with this respect the PS3 is king with the 360 closely behind, while the wii is a distant 3rd.
The wii is currently $50 cheaper in comparison to the PS3/360, but you lose 3/4 the functionality of it's competition, in other words, you pay $250 and you essentially get just a games machine only, but for $50 more for the PS3/360 not only do you get a games machine but you add 3/4 the functionality with such things as HD graphics, DVD/Divx playback (PS3 Blu-ray playback), standard 120GB hard drive (360 Elite), easy to use and functioning online with a wide rage of games that support it and other services...for $50 more the PS3/360 just gives you the greatest value but at the same time it points out the ripp of that the wii actually is at it's current price point, which is why I suppose there are those wii price drop rumours but that's another matter.
Now at the end of the day, we buy console machines for the games and the franchises we like, and if it comes to being ripped off, then we'll get ripped off of our own accord so that we can play the games we like, but having said that, the ideal world would be to have a great value console that does it all at a reasonable price plus allowing us to play the games we love...but depending what type of games you like you either are living in the ideal world or not.
I my self am living in that ideal world, I have a HDTV, PS3, have a Divx collection on my portable HDD which i use my PS3 to watch them, watch blu-ray movies, and to boot the console of my choice has all the franchises and games I like, and they are all Sony exclusives, essentially I use all the PS3 has to offer me, and yes I know that other PS3 owners may not be like me but I speak only for my self.
Really in regards to games I am no different to you, you got the wii to play Zelda, I got the PS3 to play God of war 3, Uncharted, and Ratchet and clank....the only differences is that my console allows me to enjoy other things apart from gaming depending on my mood and yours doesn't, that's it.
my 2 cents.
