When people pay more for hardware they have to spend less on software. When software sales are lower that hurts the manufacturer in the form of fewer licensing fees. No...no one is loosing. He isn't price hiking anyone. He started the auction at $220, well below what he spent. I don't believe he even included a reserve. This purchase was ENTIRELY of the consumers perrogative, nothing more. He did nothing wrong.
