In general liberals due seem rather apathetic towards Israel.  Quite a few heavier leaning left wing people blame Israel for the middle east hating us... and think if we just gave them the heave ho and let the country die  the middle east would suddenly like us.

Apathy isn't hate, we just don't want the US to be Israel's lapdog, seriously, why should we do things against our own interests just because of them, if they do something stupid against us, we should teach them a lesson

 I don't see them as enemies, but how much blowback have we gotten because of Israel?  How many American lives have been lost because of America's relationship with Israel, and Israeli actions?  Probably a lot.  So when they do things against our interest, its easy to understand the old saying, With friends like them who needs enemies.

And.... you are shifting the arguement... and at the same time proving my point.

I'm guessing then you agree that the US should shoot down Israeli planes if they try and bomb Iran?

I'm not shifting the argument show me how I'm doing that, my point is still the same, you argued that Dems are apathetic to Israel, I pointed out that its not hate, but disapproval of Israelis policy, and saying that we have suffered because of their policy and actions is supporting my point, so where is the shift.

Yes I do think if they try to do it without our permission, we should shoot them down
