The holiday season starts up in early November in the US. Retailers consider "Black Friday" the day after Thanksgiving as to be the peak and sales stay extremely brisk until about 1 - 2 weeks into the new year.  (Being that Thanksgiving is a US holiday its Nov. 26th this year)
