I honestly don't see much room for improvement in visuals next gen when I look at games like GT5, Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, Gears2, Forza3, AC2, etc.
Next gen, up the ram, cpu, and gpu but don't waste time trying to improve visuals on what's already seems perfect.
Take the visuals we have this year and in 2010. Get things running at 1080p+ native, 90fps with better anti-aliasing, and perhaps some better lighting and BAM!! Everything's perfect. Now you can have so much more time to concentrate on content.
