Wii sales have dropped in Japan every year YoY since 2007 actually.
2009 is trending to be the lowest year for the Wii in Japan. By 2011 that situation could very well be worse, not better.
The Wii has been in some trouble in Japan for a while I think, it was just masked by the fact that the PS3 was doing so much worse and Wii Fit carried the system through most of 2008.
A successful, healthy platform does not having declining sales from year 2 to year 3 to year 4 of its console cycle (speaking of the Japanese market). It should be accelerating not decelerating.
