I mean seriously, as you are a man of influence. VGC reviews suffer from this problem, especially as they come out so late after the game in question is released.

They're late because VGChartz reviewers don't get advance copies. They buy it retail, and considering that they may only have a few hours to play that game a day, you shouldn't be too shocked. They're bound to see reviews of the game.

Not entirely true. We get review copies, but usually very late. I know Tor has already finished his review copy of Demon's Souls and about to start writing the review.
