As others have said, once you have been around a while, you know the lay of the land. In addition, I tend to look to see what kind of games (both system and genre) they report having as well as the demographic information on the profile to try to understand where they are coming from. In other words, a middle-aged American male playing the Wii is going to view some things differently than a 20-something student from the EU or Oz who likes playing FPS.
