I think a lot of it has to do with the Japanese market not doing so hot lately and thus predictions are going to represent that decrease as well. I think FF13 should be able to do 1 million to 1.5 million first week and end with about 2 million lifetime in Japan so I obviously disagree with their predictions.
But you'll notice for all their predictions they have a sort of lack of faith any game right now and maybe that is quite justified. But we'll know a little more about the state of the market for this game by November.
