In Japan, yes. Everywhere else, probably not. Like I said, it'll depend on the game and genre really. A game like FF XIII should easily sell more copies on the PS3 because of Japan, while MW2 and GH will sell more copies on the XBox 360. Even the Wii version of GH might sell better then the PS3 version.
