I tell you - BR won't drop prices like this. Toshiba basically wants this player sold and out of the way for their new players. And folks tout the BR lineup. Let me tell you one thing - if there are tons of players - an insane install base, you don't think the studios won't reverse course? Only the Sony camp will stay the course. The others are looking at the bottom line.
What I find funniest is how MS's 360 HD DVD starting this HD DVD craze. And in essence, this HD DVD/BR fight is really being somewhat swayed by two of the biggest game makers. BR is only in the running because of the PS3.
This is going to get messy if Toshiba keeps doing things like this. The playing field is definitely going to be level soon ...
