Well over, usually. And I think the Op was talking about a potential Pokemon MMO, not Pokemon as it is now. Pokemon is already bigger than WOW by that metric.

Not really, unless you are going back to the gameboy releases.  WoW has probably sold similarly to Diamond/Pearl.

16 million, eh? I suppose that's fair, but at the same time that's how many people continue to buy Pokemon every time it's released. At any given time, that's roughly Pokemon's installbase: WoW has never gotten that high in terms of registered users, not ever.
