I'd say this is the best answer. And not just because it's 2D, but also because it's multiplayer.
NSMBWii is something new to the Wii in terms of gameplay, while Halo:ODST isn't very differentiated from Halo 3. They'll both provide some push to hardware, any game that sells well does, but NSMBWii has a lot more potential in this regard.
