All well and good, but its till around 7.6 million behind the 360, even if it was able to sell this much better than the 360 every week (not going to happen, but lets just say for fun), it would take almost a year to catch up to the 360, and it won't sell this much better for much longer, even if it kept selling 50K better than the 360 every week it would take about 3 years to catch up.
Basically even if things go great for the PS3 for the next few years, the gen will be pretty much over by the time it gets to second place.
