I dont know the $ to £ rates so i dont know how much that would cost over here, but sure. Go on... Could you also give me your definition of "core" aswell, please? |
Instead of trying to define core, I will describe the game, its goals, and show some gameplay, and hope that it speaks for itself.
Link's Crossbow training takes place in several modes, namely an on-rail shooter (ala Starfox), a "defend your spot" mode where you have to hold off hordes of enemies, a gallery shooter in the vein of Hogan's Alley, and free-roaming sections where you take out targets inside of a base.
There are nine different levels, each with three stages, each with different locales and goals - well, often very similar goals, just with different presentation. But it's a shooter. There isn't a lot you can do.
Link's Crossbow Training has a lot in common with Star Fox 64 in that it is short, it is a shooter, it's fairly linear, and th primary value of the game comes from replayability. How does it encourage replay, you ask? Simple: you can play for score, and earn medals according to how well you score, and compare your score to other players. There are different scenarios, boss fights.... whatever you want.
Here's a clip from kind of a bad Let's Play:
