It IS that bad. If it wasn't for the Colin Mcrae/ DIRT name and wasn't by such a well known publisher, it would definitely be considered shovelware. It is very much reminiscent of Off road extreme by Popcorn arcade. The presentation is awful, the races are all too similar and boring . The controls are abysmal. You can just never predict whether your car will go straight or just spin put of control, even on a straight. The A.I is stupid too. When they are in front they just pootle along but as soon as you catch them up your car appears to be transformed into a shopping trolley with butter on the wheels so the handling becomes abysmal. The graphics are terrible. The cars look totally cartoony. Seen better on the N64. They look like they have been drawn by a 5 year old with a crayon. Colin Mcrae would be turning in his grave, having his name associated with this travesty of a game. Having seen a review of the PS3 game in Gamesmaster i have to say dirt 2's only similarity to the HD games is in name only. It was lucky to get 4 in my opinion.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!
