Fewer clones is an unspoken goal. I was very happy in SSBB to see how different they managed to make Fox, Falco, and Wolf.
I'd personally want Ike dropped for Hector, but I realize that Ike is far more popular than Hector probably is just thanks to his exposure in two console titles and the fact that he was in the most recent SSBB.
And yes, Ganondorf desperately needs a better moveset. With all the love they gave to Falco, it's really sad to see they didn't spend some of it on Ganondorf.
