That's not true.

Expectations play a much larger part than overall sales. Halo 3 or FF13 selling 1 million would be a major flop.

And people who had realistic expecations knew that it wouldn't sell anywhere near the PSP versions. What should be compared is the PS2 games, and let me note that it exceeded them by A LOT.

Well, certain factions aren't going to compare it to the other console Monster Hunter games because, if they can compare it to the portable versions, they'll be able to call it a "flop".
