What's with the number of mystery dungeon games on the DS? Seems like there are tons of them.

There are four.

Blue Rescue Team, Explorers of Time, Explorers of Darkness, and this one.

Izuna:  Legend of the Unemployed Ninja.

Izuna 2: The Unemployed Nnija Returns.

Mystery Dungeon:  Shiren the Wanderer.

Izuna's a roguelike, but I don't think it's a Mystery Dungeon title...is it?

It has the same style gameplay.
