Thats not the point. Sony not paying for the extra content in their version is the problem whilst allowing Microsoft to cover their ends. Thats very bad business.
That was Microsoft's decision and I'm pretty sure it was worth it for them for 1) giving their console much more attention and recognisable brand in Japan and 2) stalling Sony's business. Namco isn't Sony's studio, Sony doesn't have to pay for what they do. Sony however has to approve the game for their console and those are their conditions. Had Namco put out the game for both consoles from the very start, Sony wouldn't have demanded the extra content. |
The contract was for timed exclusivity. Of course Microsoft knew about the details, because it was their contract (lol). You're right about Microsoft slowing down Sony, but as you can see Sony is penalizing Namco for makes a timed exclusive with Microsoft. They should be business people and show that they care for their consumers besides their own egos. They should pay for their own content, but as I said, Microsoft paid for it. If someone offered you millions to fund your game in a bad for timed exclusivity wouldn't you take the money? if the tables were turned Microsoft would never blackmail Namco like that, because they couldn't afford to do it. Business is business and Sony proved that they had to have their egos served before paying to get their fans more. Namco even said the 360 fans deserve to have this extra content themselves, but it would be near impossible.
