Well it's doubtful it needs a pricecut to continue a successful year in 2009. Going by trends in comparison to PS2, it is still on track to have 19 million units sold this year or 10 million by the end of December 2009. That's pretty damn good.
Nintendo understands they need to be competitive in the eyes of the consumer. If not it'll have a negative reaction. Of course I'm not sure if now is good timing but it shows that they are willing to be competitive when necessary to attract as many customers to the brand as possible.
