ok then. I would also like to add that i am not saying anything bad against the wii or mario Galaxy in general, i infact said the wii is a great console and that galaxy is a great game. I said Mario galaxy is the best of the best in the world of platformers, it takes everything great about this genre of games and adds it all into one game. "The gravity effects" This also depends on what type of gravity and how you use it in the game, but off the top of my head the ratchet and clank series has used gravity to certain ponts regarding going upside down using certain platforms or tubes. There have also been gravity weapons n games, i acnnot name them off the top of my head but i have seen them. gravity weapons has nothing to do with what we are talking about, and "OMG you go upside down in R+C"...so what, in SM64 the little bowser levels had bits where you were not pulled toward the same plane....but being pulled toward a specific plane is not like being pulled toward a point....in reality we are pulled to a point (centre of the Earth) in games the characters are nearly always pulled toward a flat plane (the ground)....my argumant for the next question mentions Sonic, in which, because it is 2D, you could argue bits have you pulled to a point (though really as you cannot go round the front and back of the spinning cogs, you are pulled to a line....which is in between a point and a plane) "multiple spheroids" This has been done in Mario 128 from what i have heard from Nintnedo fans, the ratchet and clank series has also used sphere worlds on the PS2. Mario 128 is not a game, and i havent played any sphere bits in R+C so you will need to show me a video then i will decide how similar these are to SMG. "instant camera controls (you have *no* control over the camera)" I have not played alot of platformers and i don't remember all the games i have played, but before the PS1/N64 era the camera was never under your control, 2d platformers have never allowed you to control the camera. I also can't control the camera in some shooters or sports games. we are on about 3d platformers, not 2d or sports games, there is no need to move the camera in a 2d platformer, and using other genres like sports as an example is BS, i can't name any pre-N64/PS1 games that you could control the camera (i'm sure there are a small few though).....and there are hundreds of games since like racers where you can't control the camera other than driving in a direction. "two player (simulatanous) control," This has been used in many classic games, and has also been used During the PS1/PS2 days, but having this is a pain to the people that play the game and has been taken out of all games now. Name me a platformer that does what you say, because if you are again refering to games in general then of course there are some from before where two people control one character (Goldeneye had a control scheme for that for instance)
