Obviously they felt it was warranted. Whether or not there is a price cut, rumors like this could be very harmful to sales in the next few weeks.

I 100% agree, I feel the PS3 suffer for a long while due to this. The explosion it had when the price cut and slim were announced somewhat bears this out as well.
