Yea. You use Linux. Are all the command lines, hardware/driver issues, virtual machines, limited software, and frequent updates REALLY worth stickin it to the man (Microsoft)? I mean, Linux is all fine and dandy, but PLEASE man. LFD/LFD2 are optimized for Windows and Xbox 360, whether YOU or anyone else, likes it. Then... Microsoft can't force companies to make games available for Windows as well. You think they'd restrict companies from making releases on PC when they've been campaigning PCs and Windows 7 so heavily? Cmon man... really. |
My point is it is a mistake to see L4D2 as somehow exclusive to MS due to Windows being dominant OS on PC. That's like saying every game on PC has been exclusive to MS in some form - which is clearly nonsense. I don't intend to play on Linux but mention it to emphasie the fact Windows is just an OS in this situation, and nothing directly to do with the game.
My money goes to Valve exclusively as I'll be buying the game and playing it on Steam. MS involvement in the situation is incidental.
On console it's a 360 exclusive, but in my book any 360/PC title isn't fully exclusive as it allows the choice of another platform. I don't have a 360 in many ways because so many titles I'd be interested in are on PC and I prefer to play them there - therefore I don't see how you can say it's fully exclusive - if it was I'd have to buy a 360 to play it, and I clearly don't.
As I also pointed out, MS push to emphasize titles such as Gears 2 as not coming to PC clearly shows MS themselves see a big difference between fully exclusive to 360 vs available on PC and 360.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
