I just don't think Sony CARES that they aren't selling well jsut yet, they know it's going to pick up as the year progresses and I just don't think it is that much of an issue for them, the first half of year for gaming sucks because not many great games get released... do you know why that is? Because US the CONSUMERS buy less product during this period, if people bought more games away from the holiday season then this situation wouldn't arise as much.
But, I guess that just means that the Videogame industry really hasn't come that far and that the 'gift giving' nature of the christmas period is really the strongest part of the year and there is no point releasing a game in any of the other times...
Eventually the whole year up until October - December is going to end up very very flat and then massive spikes will occur at Christmas. It wasn't always this way but if you look at the Month by Month figures for the last few years (US especially) it's becoming flatter each year.
