No one remembers Dreamcast?

Everybody i know who likes games in the UK knows of the mighty Dreamcast.

Mind you, all my freinds are early 30's up to mid 40's.

I suppose that over time as more and more youths enter gaming then its bound to become less known. (Which is a damn shame)

Exactly, the younger generation won't get it...they just don't understand how Dreamcast changed gaming, and is the cornerstone to consoles even now. Dreamcast was the first to have a "Home" screen, where you could organize your memory card, transfer, and copy, play 128 bit(pardon me if i'm wrong) video games, have a VMU (still something i think mordern consoles should look into in some way) that doubled as a portable gaming device, and portable memory trading (simply epic! i remember trading memory files at school using VMU's, or characters, and going home to play). Don't forget you could launch the game from the Home Screen, and setup your time and date for the console, and your save files. The controller was super snug, and analog was tight, with amazing trigger buttons (xbox360 has these now), and the ability to go to the Home screen by pressing A, B, X, Y, and Start at the same time (kinda like going back to the Dashboard). Lastly...online play...cmon man...this system pushed it to the limit. All this...in 19.......90....9....Think about it...

Yup, i remember the old A,B,X,Y and start trick........... aah, the memories.

Excellent post, you pretty much covered all the greatness and INNOVATIONS that the Dreamcast had.

And IMO its still home to the greatest game of all time................. Shenmue.

Re-quoted for the truth!

Dreamcast is amazing..
