that's true. However, at the same time, consumers also expect "older product" receives price drop over time and it hasn't happened to Wii in almost 3 years.

But, you are forgetting that the HD consoles have had big releases this year, Street Fighter 4 and Resident Evil 5 are a few examples of this, but the Wii has had two major releases, Wii Sports resort and Monster Hunter 3, in japan. You could count the Conduit and Tiger woods 10, But even then it still does not match the number of big games released this year for the HD consoles. In order for the Wii to pick up in sales more games need to be released. This provides value to the console.
