My guess is that some/all retailers give ioi Monday -Sunday numbers and not Sunday-Saturday. Both 7 day increments so it doesn't affect much unless there is the odd Sunday release which GH3 was.
I worked at waldenbooks years ago and we calculated all our totals Monday-Sunday because splitting things in the middle of the weekend was really complicated. Alos it fit with our sales/specials and allowed for change out and reporting oon Monday(the slowest day).
So I am guessing the numbers that showed up were first day sales. Nice
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
