Used games are the obvious reason for lack of software boost. If the titles on the ps3 were not enough for you to buy it at 399$, why would you buy the games for 20-30$ more when it drops to 299? it makes no sense.
PS3 is a bad blu-ray player. I'm sure some bought it, but its an expensive one and i'd say its a low percentage.
