Awesome numbers, its like the old days again

Now the question is, can PS3 keep it up and be above Wii next week?

It won't look at software, even on its best week it can't beat a mediocre week of Wii software sales

I mean people talk about Wii falling off, but man its still moving a ton of software every week, even if you took out Wii Sports and Wii play Wii still outsold the PS3 in software, this shows that there is nothing really driving PS3 sales expcept the initial price drop and new Sku excitement, and those never last

Wii has sold twice as much as the PS3.

You really expect PS3 to sell as much SW as the Wii?

Get a grip.

look at my above post, now what do you have to say?

That you chose the launch week of Mario Kart Wii, that sold 1.16M copies week one.

Go back one week and the Wii sold about 2M pieces of software. Subtract the 350K bundled Wii Sports, and you're back to about 1.65M. That's what, 15% more than the PS3 today? Sounds good but in the very same league.

With fewer consoles, and Wii kept that up consistently, kind of blows that whole more consoles argument out of the water, and I can point to other weeks earlier without kart or Brawl where sales are still consistent, kind of shows my point that software keeps the momentum and Wii has the software to maintain stronger sales than the PS3, i'm not detracting from the PS3 sales this week, but I am showing that its not some new equilibrium

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
