Sales - Worldwide Up!!!! - View Post

I wonder how long this will stay a sales discussion haha.

Well a pretty big increase for PS3 which was expected. Although I had never thought on this level. 550,000 is definitely a surprised to me. I was expecting in the 300k-400k range and it obviously hit a little higher than that. Biggest surprised coming E/O which has seen such a downfall in PS3 sales. Good to see it get a big boost. America's boost though is one that kinda worries me. Still having problems competing in America as compared to the boosts in Japan and Europe it's hard to see that as something good in the long run.

Nice boost for 360 as well with it's first full week of $300 Elite and $250 Pro 360. I don't expect this to keep a maintained boost though. Just not enough happened. It'll fall slower than PS3 but it didn't go up to far to begin with. DS holds strong showing how unaffected it is by everything. PSP though needs some help. Even after the Dissidia bundle it needs some work. Luckily at the end of the month it will get the PSP Go and all will hopefully be well. Now it's just that darn Wii that drags down the party. Although considering all that happened with the competition and no big exclusive to come out to combat it, 180,000 isn't that bad considering. But you have to wonder if Ninty is going to have an ace up their sleeves to drive themselves into the holiday season with a boom.

Now what is always concerning people's mind is how big the drop is going to be next week. If it had been 300k-400k as I would have thought, the drop might have been less. But it is quite obvious (especially from Japan) that there were a lot of people waiting for this and bought it on the first week. Meaning it has an unusually large entrance. That doesn't bode well for the drop next week. Although second we are still going to have those that had been waiting pick it up but it's hard to think it'll have a week over 350,000 next week. My very best guess at this is somewhere between 250k-350k for PS3 worldwide next week. Which is great. That's at least 800k-900k in 2 weeks.

Then we'll have to start seeing where it levels off to. I have no estimations for that currently though.
