They changed music. It's impossible for The Beatles to be overrated, whether you like their music or not.
On topic, having just finished playing about half the game I think they did an EXCELLENT job of giving perspective on the entire Beatles career. I've been listening to and playing Beatles songs since I was 8 years old (so thats 28 years now) and playing the game gave me a whole new appreciation for what they have created. It's amazing how many times you can listen to a song and still find new things you never heard. Playing along with the songs, while recreations of the venues are on the screen really gives you a sense of being transported back in time.
You can get a sense of all this watching the documentaries or reading the books, I have done both, but actually getting to play along and experience it for yourself is whole other deal.
I think the game is fabulous and it's obvious how much love went into making it.
