I can't speak for starcraft, but I agree with him(?) and so I'll give my opinion on what's going to limit PS3:

- It's still expensive. Microsoft was having a pretty hard time selling 360s at $300-$480 this year, why is Sony going to have an easy time selling PS3s at $400-$500 next year? Yes it includes a Blu-ray player, but so far that has not saved the system.

- Overly high expectations for the game lineup. There is a great lineup of exclusives coming to PS3 next year, but that was true for quite a few years of the N64 and GameCube systems too. Quantity beats quality, sadly, and while PS3's 2008 lineup looks high quality, I'm not convinced it will have the 100+ shovelware games it needs to keep the shelves looking busy all the time.

- 360 price cuts. Microsoft is relaxing because PS3 is doing so poorly, but if PS3 started closing the gap rapidly, you can bet we'd see a serious price war. Even without that, I think MS will probably do a small price drop to coincide with the GTA IV launch.
