Should I bother fixing up my old NES? Should a get a Dreamcast/SNES?

If you've never owned a Dreamcast don't bother getting one because it's only good for nostalgic purposes.  If you don't have the fond memories of those games, they will seem horrible compared to any of the relevant games of today and you'll just be all around upset.

Ton answer your question, blackbird; Yes, I would fix the NES & then get the Super NES & the Dreamcast.

Why? 

Have you ever had one?  Have you ever even known anyone that has had a FC Twin?

I have one and it works great except for Ducktales and Battletoad (and the very small list of 10 or so games that don't work correctly are listed on the wiki).  You could go out and spend money on getting the NES fixed (which does cost a decent amount of money) and then go out and find a working SNES or you could spend the same amount of money and get the working console clone that will likely work as long as those other two.

I'm with you, I would love to game on my original NES and SNES if possible, but consoles break with age and it costs money/time to keep them in working condition.  I would rather preserve my NES/SNES and just use this as it does work perfectly well for me except for those two games I listed.

As an added bonus, if my FCTwin breaks, it's no big deal.  If my NES/SNES breaks, I'm angry.
