Actually its just a PR response to the growing number of fanboy meltdowns and people calling for the death of SE... The meltdowns themselves were based off two screenshots, the source of which no-one could actually verify, people just assumes that the worse one was the fault of the 360.

Pretty sure that most sane people realise that FFXIII just isnt going to be a graphical powerhouse any more (atleast in gameplay), especially with the dev time and resources put into much shorter, and more scripted FPS games, thats not to say XIII doesnt look amazing, its just nota as amazing as people were saying it was a) when it was exclusive, b) when all we'd actually seen were target renders, bullshots and CGI trailers.

You're trying to use logic and reason in that first paragraph... that's going to get you into trouble with those who are bound and determined to believe that any downgrading of the graphics must be due to the has-been 360 hardware.

Here is my prediction of how PS3 fans will respond based on what the developer states:

1. The developer says that any downgrading is due to what they originally attempted being too much for both consoles.  PS3 fan response... the dev is lying.

2. The developer says that any downgrading is due to the 360 not being able to handle what the PS3 can.  PS3 fan response... the dev must be telling the truth, and is evil for keeping the game at parity on both platforms.

3. The developer says that any downgrading is due to the PS3 not being able to handle what the 360 can.  PS3 fan response... their heads explode.
